What an incredible weekend!
We can’t tell you what an honor it was to lead our praise times together and invite the Kingdom of God to come colliding into our lives. I was so blown away by how you welcomed the Spirit into the details of your hearts and displayed an open-palmed posture for the whole weekend. I loved how we were able to humbly acknowledge sin and yet boldly proclaim freedom from it in His Name. Thanks to some amazing teaching from Jay Foulk, we learned to handle sacred things with great care, keep our eyes focused on God (not our giants), use our lives for the correct purpose (remember the toothbrush), always remember we’re forgiven, create some great spiritual habits, and actually do something with our lives! We hope the weekend was as impactful for you as it was for us and marks a significant pivot point in your lives that you’ll look back on for years to come. But as Jay said, there will continue to be more giants ahead that will continue to threaten your joy, freedom, and identity in Christ. To face those giants, you’re going to need help. Though your youth pastors and coaches are your first line of help, we’d be honored to be part of the arsenal of people to aid in your journey ahead. That’s the best resource we can give you. So don’t hesitate to reach out to us, we’d be happy and honored to chat through whatever’s on your heart!
Meet the team
Devan Bumstead
Singer, Electric, Acoustic
My name’s Devan Bumstead and I’m first and foremost a proud new dad, an undeserving husband, and a grateful follower of Christ. I’m the Associate Pastor at Newbury Park First Christian Church in SoCal and try to write and record music for my church when inspiration hits. When I grow up I’d like to be a Kingdom activist, helping others respond to God’s call in their lives and catalyze them for Kingdom living. I love tri-tip and could watch Jurassic Park endlessly.
Ryan Dowding
Drummer
My name is Ryan and I love Jesus. My biggest blessing is my amazing wife of 5 years with whom I am awaiting the arrival of our first child in July. I have played drums since high school (but a lot of the first years were spent trying to find left handed sticks). To me there is no greater success than helping someone experience the presence of God and seeing lives changed through His power. I cry regularly, usually when deep in worship or super happy, and have a childlike affinity to Lego’s.
Hillary LaMont
Singer
What can I say but I embody all there is about being a preachers kid. I have grown up in the church and call it my home. I have an undying desire to be nothing less than myself and I have a passion for singing and for creating an atmosphere of complete vulnerable praise. It is my desire to be a light in someone’s darkness, that light is only possible due to my love of Christ. I kinda have an obsession with llamas even though they scare me in real life. I strive to dance through life!
Dellon Barry
Bass
My name is Dellon and I am a Jesus lover. I have been in the church a majority of my life and came to a relationship with Christ in my early teens. I enjoy picking things up and putting them back down repetitively (weightlifting) and enjoy any sport that requires a board to be under my feet. I love to serve God and His body of believers as well as the general public who are in need of Christ’s love. I strive to be a strong soldier for God and try to further my relationship with him every day to the best of my ability. My aim is to please Him in everything that I do and to better His Kingdom through my actions.
Brendan Wein
Electric
Well, people call me Brendan, so I hope that’s my name. I strive to live day by day, by the grace given to us each morning. I have a deep desire to pass on the experiences I’ve had or witnessed through worship. I’ve been playing guitar for around 5 years now and it has has changed my life forever. I even chose to go to school for it, which was crazy. I named my dog after my guitar. But anyways, I’ll gladly jam-for-the-Lamb all day long! I want to be a part of your life, not just a bystander, so let me in! I’m addicted to meditation and introspection. I could easily be found staring at an inanimate object for a prolonged period of time. Terrible puns and jokes make me laugh too hard, and there’s something incredibly interesting about triangles…My favorite color is blue, but like the turquoise kind of blue. Not turquoise though, that’s gross.
